Job Description:
Provide strategic and operational direction and leadership for quality systems development and implementation, for a global Business Unit. Lead and direct the Quality Assurance functions and activities for the organization, with a focus on continuous improvement and harmonizing quality systems.
Ensure the implementation of Quality Assurance systems to ensure that WIP and finished goods specifications are met and that product shipped to customers is within specification. Coordinate ongoing activities to ensure that specifications represent fitness-for-use and are sufficient to ensure customer satisfaction.
Work with outsourced partners - ensure the implementation of control procedures, necessary to assure that products coming from outsourced partners are in compliance to established specifications and that the specifications represent fitness-for-use.
Direct the gathering and analysis of data needed to troubleshoot quality issues. Investigate and direct the response to customer and consumer complaints.
Direct the quality aspect of new product development and line extensions in the manufacturing plants; work cross-functionally on these projects with R&D and the Business Units. Ensure effectiveness of the Stage Gate process and Mercury deployment as needed with Supply Chain.
Ensure audits and implementation of established institutional quality programs to assure the consistent effectiveness of programs - such as platform Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000), Lean Six Sigma, etc.
Use the agreed upon quality metrics (Quality SCOR from SAP) to compare (and report) business performance globally and implement corrective action as needed.
Drive and implement the 5 Drivers of Quality strategy and related action plans throughout the global organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position works directly with the Shrink Packaging Business, Supply Chain, T&I and other functional area leadership to identify and implement global operating improvements.
Key areas of focus are commonly rate, yield, quality and cycle-time capability, streamlining existing material and workflows and reducing non-value added activities throughout. Includes focused machine/ process step improvements and aggregate re-engineering and process re-design of whole manufacturing flows, layout and production processes. Additionally includes assignments to support or lead various business process improvement projects such as improving the reliability and cycle time of various business functions and aggregate product line analysis and support.
This position additionally works closely with the local production site management to encourage and coordinate the local integration of WCM tools and principles including Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.

This plant has 6-8 film lines that produce bio hazardous waste bags and hospital garment bags. Position is open because the old plant manager was promoted to a larger facility. This plant is a non union site, 65 people, 20 year old plant, very little turn over, $25 Million is sales, stable and profitable. They want someone who can help expand or diversify the plants product offering with new processes or products. Although it is a smaller facility this person will handle the full scope of the plant from supply chain, profitability, production metrics, and growing the business. Really looking for a progressive,fore thinking, plant leader who can grow the business. The plant has very little turnover, an established management team, and someone who wants to run the plant like it was there own business. The plant is in a town of 40K, 2 hours from Pittsburgh. This position is responsible for managing the daily production operations of the facility at pre-established standards for production, waste, quality and safety. This position will also be responsible for helping set long-term goals for the departments in order to meet business goals of the plant.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Manage the production and process functions by following established production schedules to maximize the utilization of equipment and associates within the facility.
